Nothing is decided before you have been examined and had it explained to you in language that makes sense.

The appointment

What happens.

  1. A conversation about your dental history and anything currently bothering you.
  2. An examination of teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues.
  3. Imaging where it is needed to see between or below the teeth.
  4. A plain explanation of what was found, and a sensible order for dealing with it.
If it has been years since your last visit, that is a common reason to book rather than a reason to delay.

Questions

What should I bring?

Any dental insurance details, a list of medications you take, and the name of your previous dentist if there are records to transfer.

Can I get a Saturday or evening appointment?

Both are available by arrangement. Ask when you call and the practice will tell you what is possible.

I am nervous about dentists. Does that matter?

It helps to say so when you book and again when you arrive. Knowing in advance changes the pace of an appointment and how much gets explained as it goes. It is a very ordinary thing to raise.
